More on Zacatecas

Hi all, i will post some more info on where we are in Zacatecas… Jonathan posted a comment but i’m not sure if it’s easy to see???

If you come from route 54 (and you should), just before Zacatecas, exit on route 156 (big loop), the last exit before Zacatecas, this will bring you in the mountains (there is also a Pemex), a nice route. Follow the sign for “Veta Grande”, ok, at the end of that small route you will see another bigger route (junction), take this one on the left (there is a sign for the Hotel “Hotel Del Bosque”) the road is called “Periferico Gustavo Diaz Ordaz!, just do a few miles, it will be on your left very well indicated. DON’T take the 54 till the end, you will end up on a bigger and expensive highway and will end up on the other side of town for nothing. I have included 2 maps of the city.

This Hotel is an Hotel, and an expensive one ON season, but we are OFF season so the rate are fair, a room is 60$ and a place to park with hookup is 20$ a night, it’s nice and clean, very clean, it’s quiet and near the center of town.

I have added a video of our trip on my site, part of this video (video in in a MOV format “Quick Time) is on that route:

I also added a lot of pictures on my Zacatecas page:

See you all soon. Ben

  1. Just a couple of notes on the directions – follow the sign for Vetagrande from the highway. You will climb to the top of a hill. On the descent, you will come to an intersection with a road “Solidaridad”, but there is a sign for “Hotel del Bosque”. On that road there is a fork and take the left road. After that, just follow the road until you see the Hotel del Bosque on the left.
    Good luck!

  2. Ben & Sylvie – thanks for the video!!! Us poor souls with cubicle jobs are living vicariously through you guys, you know . . . Hope you get a chance to make more soon and that travels continue to go smoothly,
