Jonathan, Memphis to San Antonio
South along the Mississippi river on highway 61 then west through live oaks and over swamps on I-10. Driving through Mississippi, my previous home of 24 years, I spent much of my time visiting family and friends. These visits have been great, and some long overdue. I look forward to my return trip and the opportunity to see more of Mississippi and the wonderful people there.
I have now travelled beyond the guest bedrooms and home cooked meals and my van has become my home. At about ten p.m. I rolled into the San Antonio Flying J to the welcoming site of three Westfalias with tops raised. Frank, Rita and Hunter (the dog), Ben and Sylvia and Martin (newly met, returning from Mexico with his family in their westy) were hanging out and by the look of things we are taking over the parking lot. Frank promptly presented me with a tasty cold beer (well deserved in my opinion) and after about 2000 miles of driving it seems to me that my trip to Mexico has officially begun.

I agree with Josh. The pictures are great. Keep them coming. It is neat to follow along with your trip from up here in Black Mountain where it is a bit chillier than it is down there.
I tried making the tree picture my background at home… but it made me a little dizzy.
Nice shots.
You are going to make Rebecca and I want to go down there.
Stay safe, we are thinking about you up here.
Sounds like a great adventure, Jonathan. We have enjoyed this website and would like to follow you on your trip. There is always a place for you in our home in Kentucky!
