La Ticla
We left La Manzanilla, we had to fly a bit on our own. We ended up going south, 3 hours later we were at La Ticla (the road is nice, only one check point and they didn’t care about us) where Jason as been surfing for 3 weeks, it’s somewhat dificult to find, at about an hour from Tecoman and 15km/15min after Placita, after a bridge over a river). We caught him late on a wave. La Ticla is clean and nice (Electricity, shower, nice toilet), but nothing like La Manzanilla as to convenience (food, fast internet). It look like a surfer paradise. Life here is smooth and easy. This morning, we went out to reach El Faro and Maruata, to our deception, it was still pretty full of people. El Faro look very nice but we didn’t explore enough to find a nice place. Sadly, we didn’t find what we where looking for, palapa would be somewhat far from the van and not that close to the water. We then came back to La Ticla to relax a bit and see Jason a bit more. But after the weekend (maybe?) days, we will try again.
Cheers, Ben
Here is the explanation of how to come here by Jason
get to Tecoman. Just before entering the city, there should be a sign for Cerro de Ortega,
so follow that on the 200. Drive south on the 200 for 1 hour passed Tecoman, and you will
hit La Placita. Ticla is almost exactly 15 minutes after LA Placita.
There are no signs for Ticla. Look out for a small bridge crossing painted yellow.
Slow down because you are almost there. You will have to turn right (towards the ocean)
in the small village entrance. Follow the main Paved road through the town.
There is a spot where the road zig zags up a small but steep little hill.
Follow that and then stick to your right when there is a split in the road.
Once you see the ocean , there a few campgrounds at the bottom of a small hill.
Before you hit the beach there is an entrance on your left...
look for the Palm trees, you sorta have to drive through the leaves.
Look out for my van.
