Jonathan, Surfing Laredo
Frank and I are out surfing Laredo and have found some good wifi waves at the library. Fortunately there is a steady breeze which is keeping the van at about 85 fahrenheit inside.
Thanks to everyone that is reading the blog and following along. Your interest makes our trip more fun and purposeful. I will try to keep the pictures coming though I can’t post many today because my Ubuntu install crashed a few minutes ago and took all of my pictures with it.
The last few days here in Laredo have been well spent. We have all gotten to relax a bit from the stress of travel and get to know each other much better. Since I had not met anyone else on this trip I wasn’t sure about the social chemistry but after only a few days any worries that I had are gone. I do wish that I knew French so that my companions wouldn’t need to worry with English when I am in the discussion.
Jean and Jason have joined our group and Hans and Nellie should be here this afternoon. This means that we will have a 6 Vanagon caravan when we cross the border tommorrow. I plan to update everyone on our crossing after we get to Zacatecas tomorrow evening.

hope you all make it safe. look foward to an update tomorow.
sounds like a good time so far. do they have AAA in Mexico?
When you have as many great VW Vanagon mechanics in your group as we do you don’t need AAA… Of course we may need UPS because the Vanagon was never sold in Mexico…
