Uneventfully we made the short drive from San Antonio to Laredo and are safely camped at the Lake Casa Blanca state park (site 201). We are all enjoying a bit of relaxation after the many days of preparation and travel. The park is full of birds with the dominant species being the vocal and entertaining long-tailed grackle. As we wait for the rest of our group we plan to do some fishing, repacking and probably a bit of beer drinking. Currently our group consists of Frank Rita and Hunter, Ben and Sylvia and myself but hopefully Jean will join us later today.
