Hi, thanks for all the pics. We enjoyed it.
Where are you guys situated at the time?
We are planning to leave Thursday .
Hopefully we’ll meet up with you.
Hans is momentarily on the roof! shovelling snow.
See you in a while, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Frank, Rita and of course, Hunter, from the North Pole —– I’m sure you’ve already heard the stories of our massive dump of snow last week which still covers all the sidewalks in Ottawa!! I was very tempted to dig my way to the barn and drag out the dog sleds and Zipper and the other “oldies” were in a very enthusiastic mood to pull anything anywhere!! More reliable than “the beast” whose windshield wipers stopped in mid storm while I was driving back to Carp from Ottawa. Doug Coady was nice enough to fix the problem for free, so I paid for coffee for all in the garage. The back wiper gave up two weeks ago and the heater fan is in “excited delirium” status which might require a quick and dirty tazering! After leaving the lights on and with -20C nights, the battery has decided to test the patience of Al, the CAA guy from Country Towing two days running.
The weather for the weekend was 9C and rain with a Thunderstorm last night and it’s now freezing again. I used to figure skate to Edward Bear’s song, “Down in Mexico” and when I was stuck in the snow with the Eurovan last week, having swerved to avoid the schoolbus on the gravel road 300 metres past my driveway, I thought ….”I’m thinking of you down in Mexico, feeling free as the air, here I am stuck in the city, still going nowhere”.
Then after the new furnace was installed ( the heat exchanger cracked) and the next day, the new transformer on it failed, and it was 14C when the company repairguy was able to come 6 hours later following all his list of calls, I thought. of your leaving Almonte ……..”It scares me sometimes when I see how I’m held here, It scares me sometimes when I see just how you got away, It seems to work fine leaving all of the trouble, It seems to work fine and I really don’t know why I stay, Cause I’m thinking of you down in mexico” etc. etc. etc. !!!
So be VERY GLAD that you’re relaxing on your favourite beaches for Christmas and the New Year, fixing van problems with friends, downing your choice of alcoholic beverage with just the concern about how dark your tans might be when you return — if you do — to your friends in the Valley who are as white as the “driving” snow. At least we will recognize you Frank as your beard will have grown back and the slick out of your hair, Rita will be as cheery as ever and I trust Hunter will be his cuddly self, although I haven’t yet seen a photo of him.
All the best for the rest of your trip, and keep safe!!

Think you could post these somewhere that doesn’t require registering? I hate being spammed over and over and over….
