Back in La Manzanilla !

Just a very quick update to let you all know we are still alive and in Mexico, back in La Manzanilla. Arrived here yesterday afternoon after having driven more mountain roads than I care to remember going up to Angangueo to see the butterflies and surrounding Pueblas. Fabulous interesting drive but it was long and cold up in the mountains. 11,ooo ft. where the butterflies were ! So, after much consternation and consideration of going further south to Puerto Escondido and Palenque we decided we’d much rather go back to a warm place we really liked and stay put until the end of March then have the whole month of April to drive back up through Mexico from not so far south and get to Greensboro, NC for EveryBus April 17 ~ 20 then a quick stop in New Kensington to see my Sister and Mom then back home to Almonte for the end of April. We also decided it was time to get out of the van we;ve been in since November 19 and have rented a casita through Sara, some of you who were here will remember her. It’s a beautiful modern one bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the bay just up the hill a five minute walk from Yolanda’s and the beach. It’s perched high on the hill with about 100 steps down to street level. Parking for the van up a steep rocky dirt road behind, kitchen, barbeque on the balcony and Wifi in the cassita is included so we can Internet or Skype any ‘ol time we wish. Then we have the van free to cruise around and explore more. We will use the down time here to rest, relax, visit friends, swim, fish, canoe and write a good story about our adventures since we left La Manzanilla three weeks ago and came back yesterday. Mike & Marrianne are already planning a trip north with us to Chamala to fish and surf.

So stay tuned for a good read and lots of photos and videos.

Below are photos just for Ernst. It’s the little doggy that befriended you and you were to take her home and the girl and her family up the beach took her instead. We met them this morning at Yolanda’s and the doggy has grown a bit and is in very good shape. Sporting a new harness and has been all checked and serviced by a vet in Manzanillo. They are all very proud of her and am sure she has found a very good home !

ALSO for those still waiting to see the hydro pole in the road in Manzanillo that damaged my van, Ernst finally sent them to me to post here. It’s true the Hydro Pole is in the middle of the traffic lane !!
